Embark on an unforgettable 4-hour hiking tour to the majestic Burdah Mountain, a renowned hiking destination in Wadi Rum. With our expert guidance, you’ll have the opportunity to experience breathtaking views and witness unique landscapes unlike anywhere else in the world. Prepare to stand on the top of the tallest rock bridge in Wadi Rum, an incredible natural formation that will leave you in awe.
Where we meet you
When driving towards the Wadi Rum Protected Area you will first reach the Wadi Rum Visitor Center. There, you can purchase your entrance ticket for a nominal fee of 5 Jordanian dinars per person, or simply show your Jordan Pass and enter for free.
After entering the reserve, continue down the road for about 7 kilometers and you will arrive at the Wadi Rum Village. On your right-hand side, you will see the Wadi Rum Rest House, which serves as our meeting and starting point. If you’re coming by car, you can park your it for free in the adjacent parking lot. If you’re arriving by taxi or bus, simply ask your driver to drop you off in front of the Wadi Rum Rest House.
Feras will be waiting for you at the Wadi Rum Rest House to welcome you and provide you with all the information you need for your upcoming tour. From there, we’ll hop into our 4×4 vehicle and embark on a scenic 30-minute drive to the starting point of our hike.
Our Half Day Tour has two potential starting times. In the morning the tour starts at 9:00 am during Winter (from October to February) and at 10:00 am during Summer (from March to September). In the afternoon the tour starts at 12:00 pm during Winter (from October to February) and at 2:00 pm during Summer (from March to September).
The Main Part of our Tour
The ascent to the top of Burdah Mountain will take approximately 3-4 hours, including the return journey to the vehicle. Throughout the hike, our knowledgeable guides will lead the way, ensuring your safety and providing insights into the natural wonders of the region.
As you conquer the challenging terrain and reach the summit, the panoramic views will take your breath away. Gaze upon the vast desert expanse and marvel at the rugged beauty that surrounds you. Standing atop the rock bridge, you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment and a deep connection with the awe-inspiring landscapes of Wadi Rum.
The rock bridge, spanning an impressive 20 meters in width and towering at an estimated height of 35 meters, offers a mesmerizing backdrop for stunning photographs and captivating videos. Capture this remarkable moment and share it with your friends and family.
If you choose the afternoon starting time there is one last stop to the tour. Depending on the time of the year both the location and the time changes in order to be able to watch the magnificent Wadi Rum Sunset from the best vantage point. Consider this last part of the journey a small mystery.

Lunch can be added to the Half Day Hike Tour as an extra.
If you choose the morning starting time for your tour, lunch is served at the end of the tour. If you choose the afternoon starting time for your tour, lunch is served before the tour starts.
The Evening Part of our Tour (Optional)
For some guests, the experience will end here with a return back to the Wadi Rum Rest House.
However, if you choose to spend the night with us, we will continue our trip by driving you to our traditional Bedouin Cave or Camp (can be chosen during checkout) located inside the protected area in the middle of the desert far away from any noise or light pollution.
There we will light a warm fire and offer you some Bedouin tea before preparing dinner. You will have time to wash up and settle into your tent before dinner is served. The tents are made of a special fabric that will shield you from the cold of the desert during the night. Furthermore, we will provide you with all the necessary equipment, such as mattresses, warm blankets, and pillows, to ensure a safe and comfortable night’s stay in the desert.
Usually, every night we gather around the fire, play Bedouin music, dance, and exchange stories about the Wadi Rum desert and Bedouin culture. Moreover, if you feel like it, you can go for a nighttime walk in the desert under our guidance and witness the amazing starry night sky.
Finally, the next day, after breakfast, we will take you back to the Wadi Rum Rest House where our adventure started in order to continue your journey.
