    Location of the Camp

Our camp is located in the heart of the Wadi Rum Protected Area, a vast and stunning desert landscape in southern Jordan. Surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs and vast open spaces, our camp is perfectly situated to offer our guests a true desert experience. From our camp, you can take in the breathtaking beauty of the desert while enjoying all the comforts of our modern facilities. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

What sets us apart is our unique location within the Wadi Rum Protected Area, unlike many other camps that claim to be in Wadi Rum but are actually located outside the reserve. This allows you to experience the true beauty and tranquility of the desert without any distractions from the outside world.

Important: All pick-ups for the camp start from the Wadi Rum Rest House. Here you can find a complete guide on how to reach it.

Inside, you’ll find a range of accommodations to suit your needs, from intimate tents designed for couples to larger tents that comfortably house groups of two, three, or four. These tents also feature stylish and traditional décor, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Step outside onto your private terrace to savor the breathtaking views of the desert that stretch as far as the eye can see. The luxury tents are the epitome of desert refinement, offering a tranquil retreat for those seeking a unique and upscale desert experience.

    Private Bathrooms

To complement the luxury experience, our luxury tents are equipped with en-suite private bathrooms. These modern facilities offer the convenience of a private toilet, a hot shower with ample running water, and a well-appointed sink area. We understand the importance of comfort, even in the desert, and our private bathrooms provide a clean and pleasant environment. The bathrooms are designed with a nod to traditional Bedouin aesthetics, incorporating elements of desert culture while ensuring modern functionality. After a day of exploring the wonders of Wadi Rum, return to your luxury tent and indulge in the comfort of a private bathroom. It’s the perfect blend of luxury and convenience, allowing you to fully enjoy your desert adventure without compromising on comfort.

    Traditional Bedouin Tents

Our traditional Bedouin tents are a true representation of the Bedouin way of life and offer a unique experience for guests. These tents are raised from the ground to ensure cleanliness and maximum separation from the elements, and they offer stunning views through the valley. During the summer months, the tents allow air circulation, which helps the desert breeze cool the tents in the evening. The goat wool fabric, combined with the canvas and secondary internal fabric layer, acts as a great insulator, providing a comfortable environment even in extreme weather conditions.

While Bedouin tents in Wadi Rum remain basic options, they offer a significantly greater barrier to the external climate than modern camping tents. The tents are completely fabric structures with metal frames, similar to the tents which we relocate as required. We offer Double tents for couples, Group tents with up to 5 single beds and Family tents for up to 5 person. No matter what size your group is, we have accommodation options to suit your needs.

Furthermore, we provide private tents with lockable doors, furnished with beds, linen, pillows, and warm blankets to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep for all guests. Guests staying in our traditional Bedouin tents will have access to nearby shared bathroom facilities, which are gender-segregated and equipped with western toilets and showers with hot water at specified times.

In addition, all of our tents have electricity for the convenience of our guests. This means that you can charge your electronic devices and use lighting during the night. We do ask guests to be mindful of their electricity usage, as we strive to maintain a sustainable and environmentally conscious camp.

    Shared Bathroom Facilities

Our camp boasts modern shared bathroom facilities with hot running water from our gravity-fed system. The gender-segregated bathrooms feature western-style flushing toilets, conventional showers, and sinks for guests to use. Our shared bathroom facilities are located in close proximity to the living tents for the convenience of our guests.

Our camp takes hygiene and cleanliness seriously to guarantee the comfort and satisfaction of our guests. We are aware that water is a valuable resource in the desert, and we make efforts to conserve it. With our storage facilities, we always have enough water for our guests’ needs. However, we do ask our guests to be mindful of the water scarcity in the desert.

    Common Tent

The common tent, also known as the main tent, is a spacious and comfortable area where guests can gather to relax, socialize, and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the desert. It is the perfect spot to unwind after a long day of exploration or to seek shelter from the sun during the hotter hours of the day.

Inside the common tent, guests will find an unlimited supply of Bedouin tea and refreshing water, which are always available to quench their thirst. The tea has been one of the core pieces of Bedouin hospitality for centuries and is served in small glasses with a generous amount of sugar. It is the perfect drink to warm up on chilly desert nights or to cool down after a long hike.

The common tent is also where traditional Bedouin meals are served, cooked in the “Zarb” method using hot coals buried in the sand. The meals are a feast for the senses, with aromatic spices and tender meat and vegetables. Vegetarian and other dietary restrictions can also be accommodated upon request.

In addition to its function as a dining area, the common tent serves as a space for guests to gather and socialize. It is equipped with comfortable seating, rugs, and cushions, and the low tables create a cozy atmosphere. The panoramic view of the desert adds to the charm and makes it a memorable experience. It is also a great place to learn about Bedouin culture and traditions, with opportunities to listen to Bedouin music and stories shared around the warm fire pit.

    Food & Drinks

One of the highlights of staying at our Bedouin camp is the traditional Bedouin meals we offer, cooked in the “Zarb”. This cooking method involves digging a pit in the ground and heating rocks until they are red hot. The chicken and vegetables are then placed on top of the rocks and covered with a metal lid, allowing the food to slow cook in its own juices for several hours, resulting in a delicious, tender, and flavorful meal. This method has been used by Bedouins for centuries and results in tender, flavorful dishes that are a true delight for the taste buds. We also offer a variety of vegetarian options and can accommodate other dietary restrictions with advance notice.

For breakfast, we offer a variety of options to help you start your day off right. You can enjoy a traditional Bedouin breakfast of Jordanian bread, Bedouin salty cheese, cream cheese, butter, marmalade, halva, boiled eggs, Bedouin tea, and coffee. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also available.

Bedouin tea is a traditional tea made with sage leaves and sweetened with sugar. It has been one of the core pieces of Bedouin hospitality for centuries, is served to guests as a sign of welcome and respect and it is the perfect drink to sip while watching the sunset or chatting with friends around the fire.. At our camp, it is brewed fresh daily and available throughout the day. Made with a blend of herbs and spices, Bedouin tea is not only delicious but also has many health benefits, such as aiding digestion and boosting the immune system.

We also provide fresh drinking water at all times, and encourage guests to stay hydrated in the desert environment. Whether you are relaxing in the common tent or enjoying the starry night sky outside, you can always find a refreshing drink and delicious meal at our camp.

    Outside Area

Our outside seating area provides a perfect place to relax and take in the stunning views of the desert. You can sit back on the colorful Bedouin cushions and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We also offer the opportunity to experience sand-boarding on the sand dune next to the camp.

At night, our camp is illuminated by a campfire, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. As the sun sets over the desert, you can witness the breathtaking transition from day to night and the sky fills with millions of stars. With clear skies year round, an altitude above 1000m and no light pollution, Wadi Rum is one of the best places in the world to stargaze, and our camp provides the perfect opportunity to marvel at the Milky Way and countless other celestial wonders.

This makes Photography a very popular activity at our camp. Wadi Rum offers stunning natural landscapes and unique cultural experiences to capture. From the red sand dunes to the towering rock formations, there are endless opportunities to capture the beauty of this unique desert. The camp’s location also provides a perfect opportunity for night sky photography, as the lack of light pollution in the desert allows for clear views of the stars and Milky Way. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, the photo opportunities at our camp are not to be missed.

You can also take a guided night walk with one of our experienced Bedouin guides to learn more about the night sky and constellations. Our guides have a wealth of knowledge about the stars and their significance in Bedouin culture and can share fascinating stories and insights with you.

Finally, if you’re lucky, you may also catch a glimpse of the occasional shooting star or even a meteor shower, creating a truly unforgettable experience in the heart of the Wadi Rum desert.
