Join us for a 2-Day long Tour by 4×4, both experiencing the “Highlights” of the Wadi Rum Protected Area and hiking Al Hash Mountain with its breathtaking views and unique landscapes under the guidance of true Bedouin guides born and raised inside the Wadi Rum Protected Area.
This Tour is designed to cover almost everything Wadi Rum has to offer by combining a normal jeep tour with hiking one of the tallest mountains of the area and is tailor made for those that don’t want to leave Wadi Rum without experience a little bit of everything the desert has to offer.
Take the opportunity to try Sand-Boarding in the sand dunes of the desert for free and explore the desert on the back of a Camel by adding a Camel Ride to the tour.
Our starting point is the Wadi Rum Rest House in the Wadi Rum Village which is located about 7 km from the Visitor Center and is reachable by normal car.
Day 1
During this 8-hour Jeep Tour, we will visit and explore all the iconic sights of the desert, take some amazing photos, try our home-cooked Bedouin lunch and watch the famous Wadi Rum Sunset.
We will stop at each spot where you will have plenty of time to walk around and explore. Your guide will explain both the historical and cultural significance of each sight and answer all your questions. You can find the full itinerary bellow with some extra details about each place you will be able to visit during this trip.
After a long day in the desert, we will drive you to our traditional Bedouin Cave or Camp (which you can choose during the Checkout process) in order to finally rest.
There we will light up a warm fire, offer you some Bedouin tea and prepare dinner.
Furthermore, we will also provide you with all the necessary equipment like mattresses, warm blankets & pillows in order to safely and comfortably spend the night in the desert.
Usually every night we gather all together around the fire, play Bedouin music, dance and tell stories about the Wadi Rum desert and the Bedouin culture.
Don’t miss the opportunity to go for a night-time walk in the desert under our guidance and watch the amazing starry night sky.
Day 2
The next day, after breakfast, we will continue our drive through the desert until we reach one of the tallest mountains of the area. There we will have 5 full hours to hike and cross Al Hash Mountain, taking some amazing photos in the process. No equipment is necessary. The route is very exciting and includes some of the most memorable views Wadi Rum has to offer. We will start scrambling from the eastern side of the mountain and cross the valley to reach the top at 1.700 meters above sea level.
During the hike, we will have the time to stop for Lunch in order to rest and recuperate and watch the sunset from a different point of view this time.
Finally, after a second full day in the desert, we will take you back to the Wadi Rum Rest House where our adventure started.
If you choose to spend a second night in the desert, we will continue our adventure like we did on the first night. The next morning, after breakfast, we will return to the Wadi Rum Village.
Important: Don’t forget to check the “Extras” drop down menu in order to add your 2nd Overnight Stay and your Camel Ride. Also, if you prefer we can change the mountain we will hike on the second day to the umm Ad Dami Mountain instead.

The spring is at the top of a short scramble – head for the fig tree, located just 2km south-west of the village of Wadi Rum. The spring was named in honour of Lawrence’s evocative description in the Seven Pillars of Wisdom: ‘’In front of us a path, pale with use, zigzagged up the cliff-plinth…From between [the] trees, in hidden crannies of the rock, issued strange cries; the echoes, turned into music, of the voices of the Arabs watering camels at the springs which flowed out three hundred feet above ground’’. Although the pool itself is largely unprepossessing, being a stagnant puddle, the views across the desert are truly spectacular.
Among the vast expanses of rust-coloured sand in the Wadi Rum desert, the Red Sand Dune, or ‘Al Hasany’ in Arabic, is one of the most famous ones. Officially named Al Ramal it has become better known by its descriptive name. It stands out against a cliff side like it is part of the mountain. Coloured red by the presence of iron oxide, this dune is fine and soft underfoot making it perfect to walk up barefoot!
Khazali Canyon is the site of petroglyphs etched into the cave walls depicting humans and antelopes dating back to the Thamudic times. This narrow canyon contains numerous Nabataean rock carvings of people and animals.
Jebel Khazali, a peak situated in the center of Wadi Rum Protected Area opens up in a narrow fissure of about 100 m length. Its inner walls are covered with Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, as well petroglyphs depicting humans and animals. Remarkable are the soles of feet petroglyphs, which probably had religious significance.
Easy to climb, Little Rock Bridge offers great views across a broad expanse of desert. It is easily accessible and not dangerous, it is perfect for families with children and people who feel less comfortable with heights under their feet.
Nobody is certain that this was Lawrence’s house, although there are stories that he both stayed and/or stored weapons here. The current structure is built upon the remains of a Nabataean building, however, and it’s another beautiful spot in the desert. There is little left of this building, erected on the Nabataean ruins of a water cistern. Nonetheless, legend has it that Lawrence stayed here during the Arab Revolt and that makes it a must on the regular 4WD circuits of the area. Near the building is a Nabataean inscription that mentions the area’s ancient name of Iram. The remote location and uninterrupted view of the red sand dunes are the main attractions.
We will stop for lunch (Gallaya, Hummus, Tuna, Salad, Jordanian bread, Juice).
You will have the opportunity to taste our famous home-cooked lunch and our "secret recipe".
Sometimes nature performs small miracles. One of them is the Mushroom Rock. Over the centuries, rain and winds have carved this sandstone and gave it the shape of mushroom.
The largest of Rum’s three arches is the Burdah Rock Bridge, precariously perched about 80m above the surrounding rock. There’s a precipitous hike to the summit. It’s height and location offers one of the most terrific sunsets you will ever experience.
Wild fig trees and desert bushes among huge rocks and red and yellow sand make this canyon unique. Abu Khashaba Canyon is one of the canyons that are worth to visit and you will need about an hour to walk through.
A lower rock bridge which is featured on many tours and can be easily scrambled onto. The climbing takes 5-15 minutes and the view that it offers to the surrounding area is amazing.
We will sit down, relax and enjoy the famous Wadi Rum Sunset.

Jabal Al-Hash is located in the Al-Forah area, close to the borders with Saudi Arabia. If you love hiking this is the place for you. You don’t need to be experienced or fit to climb the area and the view from the top is quite breathtaking. Some say that is the best view in Wadi Rum.
We will stop again for lunch (Gallaya, Hummus, Tuna, Salad, Jordanian bread, Juice).
